WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT STANDARD ELECTRIC, AND WHAT DO YOU SPECIALIZE IN?
My role at Standard Electric is an Application Specialist. I am responsible for providing technical support on Schneider Electric products, to new and existing customers. I also support our Business Development Specialists and Account Managers during the sales process.
HOW DID YOU BECOME INTERESTED IN ENGINEERING?
Growing up as a kid, I always had an aptitude for troubleshooting and fixing electronic equipment. This drove me to pursue a career in Electronics Engineering and later, I got into the Industrial Automation space.

I saw the potential of the Automation Industry and how it can impact the future.
WHAT TRAITS DO YOU HAVE THAT HELP YOU IN YOUR ROLE?
I use a systematic approach when dealing with problem-solving. This and my careful planning can help me in my role.
WHEN YOU'RE WORKING WITH CLIENTS, HOW DO YOU HELP THEM IDENTIFY AND SOLVE THE PROBLEMS THEY'RE FACING?
I like to start by listening to their problems and figuring out what they are trying to achieve. After hearing their feedback, I usually start my troubleshooting process where the problem lies, then troubleshoot my way backwards from there to help identify what could have caused it.
WHAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU'VE LEARNED WHILE WORKING AT STANDARD ELECTRIC?
I haven’t been here long, but it seems Standard Electric has a good family-oriented culture and their approach to improvements as a company is top notch.
WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
I like to grill and smoke all types of meat. I also like to play cornhole when I have the time.
WHAT IS AN INTERESTING FACT ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE CO-WORKERS OR FRIENDS?
Shortly after 9/11, I joined the Army and served two tours in Iraq.
