Siemens SIMATIC Notifier

Failures are often detected too late but with Siemens’ SIMATIC Notifier, you can monitor your plant, production line, or machine using your mobile device. You can configure alerts, warnings, and informative tips on the server, which are triggered by events in your plant and sent to the users in your network in form of mobile notifications. Users can quickly identify the importance of the notification by looking at their mobile device anywhere in the plant within the specified WiFi network.

Once setup is configured, the server sends notifications directly to the connected mobile devices. The users set up for the same notifications have the possibility to collaborate on incoming issues together in the same notification network.

With the Notifier, you have the ability to specify the user roles, allocate devices, and configure messages on the server using a simple and efficient web-engineering tool. Advantages of the SIMATIC Notifier include:

  • Direct notifications on smartwatch, smartphone, and tablet
  • Fast reaction times in case of service calls or machine failures
  • Reduce downtime by recognition and localization of plant or machine failure
  • Easy integration
  • Increased mobility and reachability of employees through communication via WiFi

As mentioned on The Vault, the app can be configured to show three different notification categories: alert, warning, and information (see below). Devices connect over WiFi for secure encrypted communications.

The SIMATIC Notifier app is currently available for Android Wear 2-compatible devices. It requires a licensed SIMATIC Notifier server (software download) for operation. Each license covers up to 50 compatible devices.
